Commitment to Respecting Human Rights
At NOSAWA, we believe that respecting the fundamental human rights of the people in the countries and regions where we conduct business is the foundation that supports all of our business activities. We are committed to this endeavor as it is integral to our sustainable growth.
To fulfill our responsibility of respecting human rights, we have established the Nosawa Human Rights Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy"). We will promote our activities based on this Policy.
NOSAWA Human Rights Policy
- Basic Principles
NOSAWA recognizes the importance of respecting human rights in all of our business activities as a member of society. We adopt the United Nations "Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights" as our framework for implementation.
We comply with relevant laws and regulations in each country or region where we conduct business, respect international norms, and uphold the principles outlined in the United Nations "International Bill of Human Rights" and the International Labour Organization's "Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work" to the greatest extent possible.
- Scope of Application and Expectations for Stakeholders
NOSAWA applies this Policy to all executives and employees. Additionally, we inform all stakeholders involved with our products and services about this Policy and expect their compliance.
- Responsibility to Respect Human Rights
NOSAWA strives to ensure that we do not infringe upon the human rights of any individuals involved in our business activities. Additionally, if any negative impact on human rights arises from our business activities, we will take appropriate measures to correct it. Through these efforts, we aim to build a supply chain that fulfills our responsibility to respect human rights.
- Human Rights Due Diligence and Remedy
NOSAWA strives to identify, prevent, and mitigate any negative impacts on human rights at an early stage. To fulfill our accountability in this regard, we conduct human rights due diligence.
If it becomes evident that our business activities have directly caused or contributed to negative impacts on human rights, we will engage in appropriate procedures and dialogues to address and remedy the situation.
- Dialogue and Consultation
NOSAWA engages in sincere dialogue and consultation with stakeholders throughout the process of implementing this Policy.
- Education and Training
NOSAWA provides appropriate education and training to all executives and employees throughout the process of implementing this Policy, and is committed to raising awareness of human rights.
- Key Human Rights Themes
NOSAWA recognizes that our business activities can directly or indirectly impact human rights, and we are committed to respecting the human rights of all stakeholders involved. In addition to protecting human rights, we actively work to support initiatives that have a positive impact on human rights.
In line with the above, we have identified the following key themes as priorities for our human rights compliance:
①Prohibition of Child Labor and Forced Labor
We do not tolerate child labor, forced labor, or any other unfair labor practices in any of our business activities.
②Prohibition of Discrimination and Harassment
We respect individual human rights and dignity, and prohibit any form of unfair discrimination or harassment based on race, creed, gender, age, religion, nationality, ethnicity, language, place of origin, physical characteristics, disability, or illness. We strive to maintain a healthy workplace environment. If a human rights violation is discovered, we will promptly take appropriate measures, including preventing recurrence, while protecting the privacy of the individuals involved.
③Freedom of Association
We respect the fundamental rights of employees regarding freedom of association and collective bargaining.
④Promoting a Comfortable Work Environment
We are committed to creating a workplace where employees can work safely, securely, and healthily, both physically and mentally. We also promote work styles that harmonize work and personal life.
⑤Proper Handling of Personal Information and Respect for Privacy
We comply with laws and regulations regarding the protection of personal information and strive to handle personal information appropriately while respecting privacy.
⑥Fostering an Open Workplace Culture
We strive to create an open and inclusive workplace culture where all individuals, with their diverse personalities, can express their opinions and act freely. We respect each other's perspectives and positions, fostering an environment of open communication. Additionally, through active communication, we build cohesive and cooperative relationships.
⑦Challenge and Growth
Based on our principles of conduct, each individual takes pride and responsibility in their work, autonomously challenges their goals, and achieves personal growth, which in turn contributes to the overall development of the company.
- Information Disclosure
NOSAWA reports on this Policy, as resolved by the Board of Directors, as well as on our efforts to respect human rights and the status of our human rights due diligence, on our website.
